The philosophy of the programme:
The programme will be outcome-focused, student centre and integrating scientific knowledge, clinical skills, and professional development, emphasizing evidence-based medicine, interprofessional collaboration, Global health and ethical decision-making, preparing our students to excel in a rapidly evolving healthcare system. There will be early clinical exposure, and students will be able to contribute to the care of patients.?
The program will consist of pre-clinical and clinical phases, initially focused on specific subjects. However, over time, there will be more opportunities for integrated activities to achieve full integration within a few years. The upcoming course will provide more chances to interact with patients outside of the classroom and will seamlessly blend essential scientific knowledge with practical application in a clinical setting. The focus will be on fostering student engagement and participation, and students will have greater autonomy in tailoring their studies to their interests. This course facilitates learning by covering body systems and patients’ core clinical problems.
Professionalism:
There will be a high-quality professionalism program with a holistic approach to developing professionals who contribute positively to the healthcare system. It will integrate various aspects of professional behaviour into the curriculum, allowing students to actively engage in interactive workshops, seminars, case studies, and role-playing scenarios and apply the principles of professionalism in actual patient care settings.
Also, it will emphasize ethical decision-making exercises, patient-physician communication training, interprofessional collaboration, and continuing Education.
Research:
By fostering a culture of scientific inquiry, we encourage our faculty and students to engage in meaningful research that addresses pressing medical challenges, leading to improved patient care and health outcomes.
Student learning:
Students will be supported in their learning by clinical and non-clinical staff who will assist them in becoming progressively self-directed. Students will receive eLearning support when it is deemed necessary. In preparation for graduation, they will participate in a Clinical Assistantship program where they will work alongside a clinical team in caring for patients.
Support of students and their learning:
In addition to a close collaboration between students and staff, all students will have access to resources such as counselling services, mentorship programs, support networks, and a personal academic mentor who will guide and support them through their studies.
Sites of learning:
